The Moon And Stars

Adela carefully tied the ribbon, a glittering gold wrapped around the sparkling red wrapping paper. When she was finished she smiled in satisfaction. It almost looked too good to open.
Hearing the footsteps, she turned around, and when she and Owletta saw each other, they both grinned. They were getting ready to go home for Christmas, so now was the time to exchange presents.

Stopping close to each other, they each held out their gift to each other. "You first!" Adela said. She watched as Owletta tore open the present, wincing a little as, in her opinion, the greatest wrapping job ever was destroyed. Owletta gasped at the inside. Inside was filled with sweets, all her favorites, and a bracelet. "I made it," Adela said nervously. "I hope it came out good..."
Owletta took the bracelet out. It was silver, a little charm of an owl in the middle, a charm of the moon to the left, and a charm of a star to the right.

Adela waited nervously for Owletta to say something, but instead of words, she was almost knocked over as Owletta threw her arms around her. "I love it!" she said.
Adela smiled excitedly, hugging her. "I'm so happy!" They grinned at each other, and then Owletta put the bracelet around her wrist.
"Now open yours!" Owletta said.
Adela did, tearing the present open. The inside was filled with chocolates and sweets, and a pair of red gloves with a tiny black cat sewn into each one, reminding Adela of her cat. "I made them," Owletta said. "I hope they fit properly."
Adela took them out, putting them on excitedly. She giggled, holding out her hands. "They're perfect!" she said, and pulled Owletta into another hug.
"Merry Christmas, Adela!" Owletta hugged her tight.
"Merry Christmas!"
